119 Venture Crew - formed and chartered in 2023.
Primarily born out of necessity to give our scouts (age of 14+ and First Class Rank) and whom displayed strong scout like qualities the ability to attend a High Adventure Trip together as part of the same Crew.
It became a simple alternative to the separate and traditional Boy and Girl Scouting America programs. We are happy to be able to offer this CoEd option for select purposes. It has now grown into a unit primarily for young adults (18-20 years old) some of whom have attained Eagle rank and aged out of the traditional program and also some who are now in college but deisre an alternative way to maintain their active Order of the Arrow memebership while having the opportunity to plan and lead trips with like minded individuals.
Venture Crew 119:
Share the same Chartered Organization and same Committee as our Troops.
The Crew has a designated Advisor and a few Associate Advisors who serve the Crew and the Troops simulanteously.
The Crew meets as needed on Thursday nights at St James Church at 7:30pm indoors and outdoors or as they shall designate or at off site activities.
The Crew shares camping equipment and supplies with the Troop. However, the Troop is always given priority for the good of the Scouting Program.
Many of the Troops youth also choose to multiply their membership so they may easily take part in events as they occur.
Recruitment:
Our doors are always open. We do not have a focused recruitment effort but many seek us out for our ability to adapt and fill this need.
Young Adults are more than welcome to contact us to see if we are a good fit.
All Crew Members and Scouting Leaders age 18 or older must obtain clearances and complete SYT training as required to maintian membership.
Annual Crew dues are also required to cover the use of the shared equipement.
